If your character is of a different human race (Chinese, African etc), do you mind racial slurs said against your character? Go ahead. It will go over Jet's head, most likely, and Nudge will be shocked, and yell at him. It's liable to make Nudge cry if he goes far enough, but you mentioned that he's normally okay around kids, so I don't think this will be an issue.
If your character is Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual, do you mind homophobic slurs said against your character? Go ahead. Gotta say: depending on how obnoxious he is, the Midnighter is liable to break both his legs just to prove a point. Dumbledore is used to homophobia, but it obviously won't make him feel any friendlier towards him.
If your character is female, do you mind sexist comments made about your characters? Just Nudge, and ditto with the above.
If your character is any of the above, do you mind racial/sexist/homophobic comments made about you to other characters? Go for it.
If your character is neither of the above, do you mind racial/sexist/homophobic comments said in your character's presence? Again, go for it. The different characters will all have their different reactions to it, but once it's IC, it's cool.
If your character is under the age of 18, do you mind racial/sexist/homophobic comments said in your character's presence, as well as swearing? Go ahead.
If you have any issues with the above issues OOCly, and would prefer me to not use slurs in any tags with your character, please state. Again, it's cool since it's IC. I appreciate this post, though.
